Providing a fair and equitable Public Service to Solomon Islanders is a cornerstone to good governance. It is important that people access government services when required, regardless of their status. 

In terms of improving service delivery, the Ombudsman is authorized to pinpoint any defects in the application of any law (as may be identified during investigations) and consequently make recommendations for necessary changes to rectify the legal or administrative defect so that the ultimate effect would be one of fairness and justice.
