Mr Fredrick Fakarii was reappointed as Ombudsman following the lapse of his first five-year term in office recently.
The reappointment was done after a month when the position was left vacant as of 2nd May 2022.
Mr Fakarii took his Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office on the 29th June 2022 before the Acting Governor General, Mr Patteson Oti at the Government house.
Mr Fakarii’s reappointment makes him the second person to become the Ombudsman for a second term after his predecessor Mr Joe Poraiwai.
The Office looks forward to work closely with the Ombudsman for the next five years.
