Thirteen officers from the Office of the Ombudsman of Solomon Islands (OOSI) and the Leadership Code Commission (LCC) successfully completed a Train-the-Trainer training on 8th April 2021.
The objective of the training is to increase staff capability to deliver internal and external trainings as part of the role of OOSI and LCC to assist in educating Solomon Islands public bodies and officials on, among other things, effective complaint handling and leadership conduct issues.
The training was made possible through the support of the Office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman (OCO) under a partnership program between the OCO and the OOSI and LCC. The partnership is funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
The training was conducted virtually by Troy Quaife, a specialist trainer of the Professional Development Training Pty Ltd, Australia. It was held over a period of 6 weeks, comprising of a 3-hour online session each week since its commencement on 4th March 2021.
Participants of this training are very thankful for such training opportunity which has given them additional insight, knowledge and skills necessary to carry out their responsibilities.
The OOSI and LCC are planning further capacity building trainings for their staff.
